PV SINDHU

Pusarla Venkata Sindhu was born in 5 july 1995 is a professional badminton player.She is one of the two Indian badminton players to ever win an olympic medal and she also became the first ever Indian women's single badminton player to win a medal in badminton World Championships.

In Rio olympics 2016 she made Indian’s proud by winning a Silver medal in the women’s single event,and she also became the first Indian shuttler to compete in a final of a  olympic badminton event. P V Sindhu is the youngest recipient of the Padma shri award by Government of India.

P V Sindhu was born to P V Ramana and P Vijaya.Her father P V Ramana was a professional volleyball player.Sindhu first started playing badminton from the age of 8,and learnt the basics of badminton under Mehboob ali at the courts of Indian Railway institute in Secundrabad.

After Joining  Gopichand’s badminton academy,sindhu won several titles like under-10 year catergory,under-13 year category,single’s title at sub-junior and many more..

In international level,Sindhu has won a bronze medal in 2009 at Sub-Junior Asian Badminton Championships held in colombo.

 On 7 July 2012, she won Asia Youth Under 19 Championship beating Japanese Player Nozomi Okuhara in final by 18–21, 21–17, 22–20.On 2013 she won malaysian open by  defeating 2013, beating her opponent from singapore, Gu juan.

In 2016 Rio Olympics Sindhu became the first ever Indian badminton player to reach the final of a badminton event,her opponent in fianl was Calorina Marin of spain. Calorina marin managed to beat PV Sindhu in 3 set in 83 minutes,with this PV Sindhu won the silver medal and registered her name in record books by becoming the youngest and the first women to win an Olympic Silver medal for India.
